Watching the folks go by on the street in Istanbul while waiting for my Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks Lol - Ok I can't resist a Starbucks on vacation - my favourite was in Kusadasi, Turkey right beside the cruise ship port with a beautiful view of the Sea and an Island, but this was a welcomed site and stop :) |

Our last full day in Istanbul during our 2010 vacation we traveled up the Bosphorus via ferry from Eminönü to Sarıyer. This journey takes you by the beautiful baroque mosque at Ortakoy, the great fortress of Rumeli Hisari, and Kanlica which is famous for its yogurt www.whereist.com Our destination was the Sakıp Sabancı Museum located in Emirgan, one of Istanbul's oldest settlements. We took in the exhibit "Legendary Istanbul - From Byzantion to Istanbul: 8000 Years of A Capital "at the Sabanci Museum muze.sabanciuniv.edu (unfortunately - no pictures allowed of the exhibit. |
